This annual event aims to celebrate the skill, training, uniqueness and artistry of craft cocktail concoction in Ireland. The shortlist and winners of the awards are determined by a democratic process, where cocktail fans and industry experts come together to celebrate the best and brightest in the Irish Craft Cocktail community.
The Irish Craft Cocktail Awards began in 2014, when former Kevin Hurley and Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan, both working at The Liquor Rooms at the time, talked about how great it would be to create a reward for the industry and by the industry, where winners were chosen by their peers. With the help of some excel sheets and sheer audacity, the idea became real. Robert Caldwell then joined the team to create the co-founding trio, and the Irish Craft Cocktail Awards were born. After an incredible awards night, they realised that this was something special that was meant to stay. In 2015, Alan Kavanagh (and Industry legend 2014) joined the team. Since then, the four of them have continued to organise the annual awards, aiming to make them bigger and better year on year.
In 2015 the team added regional categories and encouraged Regional Ambassadors to drum up interest across the island, hoping to make the awards truly representative of all regions. We have been very excited to see bars outside of Dublin rise up and take over, showcasing the best of what Ireland has to offer, and we of course are delighted to see those representatives every year at the awards.
A highly anticipated part of our Awards every year is the charity auction, made possible by incredibly generous prize donations. We have raised over €17,000 to date for various charities through auctions and raffles since 2014.
Our previous awards nights have been held at The Liquor Rooms, The Odeon, and The Sugar Club. The event is ticketed and open to everyone, not just those who work in the drinks industry. All are welcome!
