A conversation with someone you don't know can often feel easier than trying to talk to friends or family. That's why Samaritans in Ireland were contacted over half a million times last year. You don't have to be suicidal to contact us. People often call Samaritans because of relationship and family problems, loss, including loss of a job, a friend or a family member through bereavement, financial worries, job-related stress or overwork, and loneliness.
ICCA Charity Auction 2016 - Pieta House

Pieta House has seen and helped over 20,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm, and established eight subsequent centres, three in the greater Dublin area – Ballyfermot, Tallaght and Finglas and five further centres to cater for the rest of the country in Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Galway and Kerry.
